Votes:0 Sanctuaries/Rescue Facilities EFBC/FCC is not a rescue organization. This is a common misperception, especially because there are two large big-cat rescue places somewhat nearby. We however are primarily a breeding and research facility. Approximately 10% of our animals are from rescue-type situations, because sometimes we do help out Fish&Game when they need to place an animal. Unfortunately, there are a lot of unwanted big cats in captivity today. Most of them are tigers, lions, cougars, and bobcats. The tigers and lions are mostly "generic" animals - the tigers are not pure Bengal or Siberian subspecies, even if they are described that way, and they are often inbred. Generic cats, or those of unknown origin, should not generally be bred. They are not an endangered species - tigers and l Read More Go to Site

Eskimo Dog Rescue What
exactly is rescue? It's is the much needed task of finding new and
loving
homes for eskies that for a myriad of reasons have found themselves
without
a home. Dogs picked up as strays and impounded in shelters. Family pets
that are not longer wanted because "We're having a baby". Living in a
throw-away
society is the prime cause of dogs being discarded because after all,
it's
"just a dog" and you can always get another one. I
have
been heavily involved in Eskimo rescue for three years. It can be a
taxing
ordeal, especially on one's emotions. Summer time is the worst, when
placement
needs are at an all time high. You have to be prepared to go to a
shelter
on a moment's notice in order to avoid having a beautiful healthy
animal
being destroyed. Sometimes you're Read More Go to Site

Welcome to Underdog Rescue Underdog Rescue is committed to the rescue, fostering, and eventual placement of abandoned but adoptable dogs (and sometimes cats) in the Austin, Texas metropolitan area. There is no physical shelter; we keep the dogs at our homes and provide veterinary care and TLC while we search for loving, responsible new owners. Our adoption fee is generally $85, which includes all the dog's shots, heartworm test, and spay/neuter. We require our adopters to fill out an application to make sure that each dog goes to the right "forever" home. Unfortunately, we are unable to take dogs from the public at this time. We may, however, consider posting adoptable dogs/cats that need Read More Go to Site
