Stock - Canadian Corporate Counsel, Volume 6, No. 7 (May/June 1997) For the last three years, the American Corporate Counsel Association has sponsored conference sessions that deal with uniform task-based management systems (UTBMS), more often referred to as task-based billing. The spring 1997 meeting of the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) featured a panel on standard (task-based billing) codes. The attending law departments and law firms were intent on finding out what UTBMS was, how much money it could save the law department, and how it could affect the law firm.
