Votes:0 Maximo At 15 feet 3 inches and 1250 pounds, Maximo is the largest animal in our park. He is a Saltwater Crocodile or "Saltie" as they call them in Australia. His egg was collected and hatched by aborigines who then sold him to the Cairns Crocodile Farm in Australia. He grew to be 15 feet in less than 30 years and may live to be 60 or even 80 years old. Saltwater crocodiles are the largest of all the crocodilians, sometimes reaching a length of 18 feet. We are thrilled to be able to display this impressive specimen in our park. Votes:0 Opened in April, 1998, Animal Kingdom is Walt Disney World's newest theme park. It is not a zoo (N?HT?Z?!) and not a typical Disney theme park, and not exactly a combination. It's a totally unique concept. When you come into the Entrance Plaza you notice a different atmosphere. This is setting your mood for a trip to Africa and Asia. It is here you get your strollers and lockers, find Guest Relations, ATMs, and phones. Here you will find the only full service restaurant, the Rainforest Cafe and The Outpost , your first and last chance to buy souvenirs. Though you may have heard it is enormous (five times the size of Magic Kingdom ), you ride through a great deal of it. Once you pass through the Entrance Plaza into the park, if you've picked up your guide map, you will see by the map that A Read More Go to Site

Commercial farming was correctly seen as a way to insure the preservation of this reptile, which traces its existence back to the time of the dinosaurs.
