Votes:0 Do-It-Yourself Vegetarian Recipes by Joyce Pearce joyce@guildford.co.uk Some people choose a recipe, go and shop for a list of ingredients, and follow the instructions to the letter. Good luck to them! Others look round larder/fridge/garden at the last minute, and cook whatever they can find, with unpredictable results. If you are in the latter group, here are some suggestions. Many traditional recipes can be easily adapted for vegetarians. Cottage pie can be made using soya mince /TVP, with lots of onions, herbs, yeast extract and other flavourings. Toad-in-the-hole can contain vegetarian sausages, tinned or frozen; so can sausage rolls. Quiches can have a great range of pre-cooked vegetables such as onion, mushroom, broccoli, leek, celery, incorporated, along with a variety of cheeses. Cu Read More Go to Site

Grain products, for instance, form the base of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Department of Health and Human Services' Food Guide Pyramid, which recommends 6 to 11 daily servings of bread, cereal, rice, and pasta. Votes:0 INTRODUCTION This page could be subtitled, "Meatless main dishes even meat eaters love". That was my inspiration for creating these recipes, to add something to the body of vegetarian recipes already out there that would seem like "normal food" to people who were asked to eat it. This is especially true of new vegetarians, children, and meat eaters. Many people can't imagine what it is that vegetarians eat, and they think meatless cuisine is difficult to prepare, and unpalatable to consume. And, unfortunately, some vegetarian dishes are just that. I have been to more than one potluck dinner where I was hard-pressed to find anything that looked appetizing, and when I tried the food, I found out I was right. I created these recipes to have quick, easy and delicious meatless foods to feed my Read More Go to Site

Dasa This is a practical cookbook, designed to help you prepare
authentic Indian meals in your own home and to acquaint you with the
tradition behind India's great vegetarian cuisine. It explains not
only the techniques of Vedic, or classical Indian vegetarian cooking,
but also the Vedic art of eating, which nourishes both the soul and
the body and mind. India is the home not only of vegetarian cooking, but also of the
science of healthful living. The scripture known as the Ayur-veda, is the oldest known work on biology, hygiene,
medicine, and nutrition. This branch of the Vedas was revealed
thousands of years ago by Sri Bhagavan Danvantari, an incarnation of
Krishna. "Old", is not the same as "primitive", however, and some of
