FW: How to Pick Out a Good Horror Book

Votes:0
How To Pick Out a Good Horror Book Have you ever had the experience of going into the produce section of the local Hyped-Up Hypermarket to grab something basic like an apple or a melon and found yourself intimidated by the fruit? I have this problem all the time. I mean there are so many different categories these days, but when you get right up close to them, they all look alike, you know? More alike than they used to, at least. All the apples have exactly the same pigment and the same-sized bruise on them. The melons look like midget green volleyballs, they are so perfect and round and identical. So how are you supposed to choose? You're not allowed to just munch down on the groceries right there in the store, except for popping a few cherries or grapes in your mouth (who me?), so instea Read More

former home of AlphaDrive AlphaDrive is no more. In fact, I stopped publishing it about 6 years ago. Some really really out-of-date market listings still list it. If you find AlphaDrive listed as a market, you know that site is way out of date, and you should probably go find a source of newer information. I strongly recommend ralan.com for the latest market info. Thanks for dropping by. You're welcome to visit some of my current projects: My writing home page, with lots of stories and poems you can read for free! An Inquirer's Guide To The Universe

Votes:0
The universe is expanding. Maybe. Our understanding of the universe is expanding. Definitely. Practically every month, new theories about the origin and age of the universe are being announced. In just the past year, scientists have identified three new planets. Inhabitants of planet Earth have begun to wonder if the newly discovered planets may have their own inhabitants. Might the new planets support life? For the time being, we can only imagine. How To Use The Guide An "inquirer" can begin by thinking about and investigating what we already know about planets and the universe. Use the list of "Space Science Fact" resources to help you inquire. Then, consider some of the "Space Science Fiction" resources. When you're ready, visit the "Imaginary Planet Gallery." The imaginary planets are Read More

So you Wanna Write a Horror Screenplay ... but you don't know where to start. Well, start here. Updated 3/4/01 You might want to get Crescendo to hear what you're missing. (My life has a theme song.) The purpose of this page is to help you write a horror screenplay without leaving your seat. (God knows you'd be much better off getting some exercise instead of sitting in front of the computer for hours on end, munching Doritos and Cheese Curls and downing Coke after Coke. Then beer after beer.) But, it's your life. There's enough stuff on the Web to help you write your first script. And who knows. You may put a little jingle in your jeans. Then you can buy Cheese Curls by the case. Menu First, lets try to talk you out of it. Check out on-line courses. Read a few screenplays. See some movies Read More
