After more than 12 years, Bluefields have had to retire from performing due to too many committments for too few members. We will still continue to maintain this web site with its links to other U.K. groups. It has been fun and we hope you have enjoyed seeing us. Clogging: What is it? No, It's Not Dancing in Clogs Hi folks! I've moved again! No, I'm not a Nomad. Now I live in California. For those of you who are first timers, I made this page due to the limited amount of information in the web (some of which is incorrect). I took both traditional and modern Clogging lessons for close to 10 years. In that time, I learned a lot about Clogging and other dances. I may not be taking lessons any more, but I'm still a Clogger at heart! Please be sure to check out my FAQ page and please, if you can answer any question posed by others in my guestbook, send them an e-mail! I am thinking of adding a section devoted solely to clogging groups in different regions. Send me an e-mail if you would find this helpful. Instructors, what do you think? Types of Cloggin Read More

Clogging: What Is It? by Marilyn Devin (from an article that first appeared in Folk Dance Scene Magazine) Also called "Hillbilly Tapdancing," clogging is an authentic and distinctive form of American folk dance. Clogging has roots that reach back to our Scots-Irish and European heritage; yet at the same time, the clogging that's performed and enjoyed across the United States today has such a contemporary feel that even teenage kids have been known to desert MTV and hustle down to the school auditorium for an evening's dancing. What Do Cloggers Look Like? If you've ever seen a group of enthusiastic cloggers kicking up their heels, you probably haven't forgotten it. You'll have noticed, among other things, that cloggers don't look like the little dolls that dance out of cuckoo clock windows Read More

Greenwood Step Clog Dancers Home page Larger Font Smaller Font About us Bookings .... P hoto gallery The Greenwood Step Clog Dancers are based in Nottingham in the UK, and were formed in 1970. We dance step clog , mostly from northern England, Scotland, and Wales, and choreograph all dancers to suit our members and create a varied spectacle. Step-clog dancing involves fast and intricate steps, performed wearing clogs with wooden soles (ideally made of ash wood) and leather uppers. The best surface to dance on is a smooth resonant surface such as slate or hard wood. Wooden soled shoes were once common in industrial areas, particularly in northern England, south Scotland and south Wales. Step-clog dancing has been performed in these areas since the middle of the 19th century, sometimes in co Read More
