Tourette Syndrome
"When I was nine-years old, an imp took up residence in me. One afternoon he prodded the left side of my face from the inside, causing my lips to purse and curl askew toward my squinting left eye. Without yet knowing why, I rapidly blinked and shrugged. I grunted. I threw back my head and squeaked while my fists smacked my bruised abdomen." - Description of the symptoms experienced by a man with Tourette Syndrome.Contents of this Page

TIC DISORDERS
No. 35 (Updated July 2004)
A tic is a problem in which a part of the body moves repeatedly, quickly, suddenly and uncontrollably. Tics can occur in any body part, such as the face, shoulders, hands or legs. They can be stopped voluntarily for brief periods. Sounds that are made involuntarily (such as throat clearing) are called vocal tics. Most tics are mild and hardly noticeable. However, in some cases they are frequent and severe, and can affect many areas of a child's life ...

Devin's Tourette Syndrome Homepage
You may be wondering why this page hasn't been updated since Diefenbaker was Prime Minister, and the aswer to that is quite simple: I'm lazy...... VERY lazy...... Well, that and I have very little time, with university and the like occupying my time, but I prefer the lazy excuse, it has a somewhat less pretentious feel...... With this in mind, I guess I shoudl make it "official" and state that, unless I feel less lazy, upgrades and updates to the site wi ...

In his honor, this constellation of symptoms was named Gilles de la Tourette's Syndrome.
