EDUCATION CERTIFICATION PROGRAM The Alaska State Department of Education issues certificates under the "approved program" approach to certification. The University of Alaska Anchorage has the responsibility of recommending for certification persons who successfully complete one or more of its approved programs to the Commissioner of Education.
