Ultrasound biomicroscopy in Marfan's syndrome
The development of ultrasound biomicroscopy permitted good visualization of ocular structures in the anterior segment of the eye.
In Marfan's syndrome, most part of the ocular features is localised in this area.
12 eyes of 6 patients with Marfan's syndrome were examined using ultrasound biomicroscope (Humphrey 840 UBM).
With this imaging system, not only the lens dislocation and angle anomaly could be detected, but also the anomaly of the ciliary body which couldn't be visualised by any other clinical examinations.
