What is a Tonkinese? The Tonkinese can be described as elegant, alluring, personable, playful, inventive, people-oriented... One breeder calls them "Love wrapped in mink". Another calls them unloyal - they love whoever they are with. They easily become a member of the family. People mistakingly refer to "Tonks" as "Old fashioned Siamese". However, they are a distinct breed that was created by breeding Siamese to Burmese cats. They are recognized in the various cat fancy organizations to some degree.
