Butterflies
The word Lepidoptera comes from the Greek words lepis (scale) and pteron (wing). We know these "scaly winged creatures" as butterflies and moths.
I have studied and collected Lepidoptera for many years, and in my publication "What's a Butterfly? What's a Moth?" you will find more information about the different species. In Nectar Sources you will find a list of plants and their visitors.

You can start by planting a few nectar plants or providing other lures to attract the butterflies in your area. You may find that you're satisfied or that you're so enchanted by your fluttering visitors that you want to do more.

an open area where butterflies can bask in the sun (this is an absolute necessity)
NO INSECTICIDES of any kind
It is important that the habitat is provided on a consistent basis, so it is stable and predictable. For exa ...
