The Nation’s 13th First Lady was born Abigail Powers on 17 March 1798 in Stillwater, New York, to Rev. Lemuel Powers and Abigail Newland. She was educated at New Hope Academy and subsequently taught there. Millard Fillmore, two years her junior, became one of her students in 1819. Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis
The wife of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, she married Greek financier Onassis several years after JFK's death in 1963. She became a widow the a second time when Onassis died and was again single when she died of cancer in 1994.
