Pollution Pollution hurts the Earth's land, water and air. Pollution comes in many forms. Pollution from industry can put unwanted chemicals into the air, damaging the environment. When people or animals breathe this poor quality air it can make them sick. Pollution can also be garbage that people throw on the ground or into the ocean, lakes or rivers. In addition to making the earth look ugly, this pollution can make animals sick or even kill them. Chemicals and other materials that aren't good for the environment must be properly disposed of to prevent pollution. Not littering and recycling can help reduce pollution and make the environment more beautiful and safer for people and animals. Copyright © 1998-2004 Kidport
