Binturong PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: The Binturong, which is the Malay name for "bear cat," is a carnivore related to the palm civets. It looks like a large shaggy mongoose. Binturong (Arctictis binturong) The binturong is an arboreal animal, meaning it lives in the trees. Binturongs have black fur and can weigh 30 to 40 pounds.
